BasukaThe body is 2 1/2 inch black pipe, the headstock is 1/2 inch plate welded to the body by the nut of 1/4 inch flatstock, and the tailpiece is 1/4 x 3 inch flatstock welded to the body by the bridge (1/4 inch) and stabilized by 1/2 inch rebar. The seven frets are 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/8 angle bar bent to the curve of the pipe. The tuning heads are from a bass guitar and the three strings are flatwound bass strings tuned E A D. It is plucked or bowed with a spike fiddle bow. It is amplified by a single-coil pick-up.
