Pig
The body is a 20 gallon expansion tank. from a home heating radiator system. The bars are 1 1/2 x 1/4 steel flatstock held in place by 1/4 roundrod pins sheathed with surgical tubing. The carriage is 1/2 in square tubing with felt weather stripping glued to it under the bars. The damper is felt weatherstrip glued to 1/4 x 3/4 flatstock attached to 1/2 squarestock arms by threaded 1/4 rod that nest on thin felt glued to the bars pedipulated by bicycle brake cables at each end which attach to a single pedal, hinged by 1/4 inch black pipe tees pinned by 3/8 rod. It is played with commercial marimba sticks or cork-faced dowel mallets. It is amplified by three 81/2 inch single coil pick-ups.
