Paired
The smaller drum is made from a twenty pound propane tank, the larger drum from a forty-pound. Both 13î heads are rawhide, cushioned on the rim by rubber tubing which deadens the high ring. They tune most naturally to a minor third, but can be tuned from a semitone to a fifth apart. These drums are essentially airtight.
