It would be impossible for me to say how much of this I would have
done without the example set and the information provided by Bart
Hopkin.
To me he is a musical liberator equal to John Cage or Ornette Coleman.
His books Musical Instrument Design and Getting a Bigger Sound
have enabled me (and others) to pursue musical ideas traditional
instruments (and their enormous expense) worked against. His website
(link below) has provided information and exposure for a generation of
instrument builders, opening a door to countless new directions for
musicians to explore and pursue.
